Biography

MULGREW MILLER (pianist, bandleader) was born August 13, 1955 in Greenwood, Mississippi. Raised on gospel and R and B, another of Miller’s early influences, reflected in his technical mastery, was Oscar Peterson. Currently working in a trio format with Derrick Hodge on bass and Karriem Riggins on drums, Miller has released two live albums “Live at Yoshi’s “. He is currently director of Jazz Studies at William Paterson University in New Jersey and received an honorary doctorate from Lafayette College in 2006.
