Biography

TARA DAVIDSON (alto and soprano saxophones, composer, bandleader) Toronto born and raised Davidson is seen as a promising new artist among the current generation of jazz musicians. Receiving her B.A. in Jazz Performance at the University of Toronto, Davidson has studied with Mike Murley, and in 2006 joined with David Braid in forming the successful DMBQ (Davidson, Murley, Braid) ensemble. Her 2008 release “Code Breaking” was nominated for a Juno for Traditional Jazz Album of the Year.
